The Osaki OS-4000T is equipped with a two-position Zero Gravity recline that goes well beyond the 180-degree mark when fully reclined. This feature ensures that your legs are comfortably elevated above your heart, while the backrest comes astonishingly close to the floor. Within the domain of massage chairs, this recline pitch is commonly known as inversion.
Throughout our extensive 10+ years of experience, we have tested countless chairs and discovered that only a select few models can achieve such a deep recline. It’s important to note that this extreme recline is optional. You can choose to receive a massage in the upright position, opt for the first Zero Gravity position, or independently adjust the backrest to find your desired comfort level.
The NASA-inspired Zero Gravity feature evenly distributes your weight across the chair and promotes a “weightless” feel, much like astronauts experience when they transport up to space. This stress-relieving position delivers a firmer roller massage than when you’re in the upright position due to your body weight being on top of the rollers. The Zero Gravity position also allows for deeper spinal decompression, decreases stress on your heart, and expands lung capacity.
New to the OS-4000T is its excellent foot roller massage. This feature was recently added due to popular demand and substantially enhances the massage experience. That’s why the chair underwent a name change to the Osaki 4000T. Originally known as the Osaki 4000, it was given this new designation after the foot rollers were incorporated. The foot and calf massage includes spinning reflexology rollers on the soles of your feet, along with six airbags that inflate on the sides of your feet and eight airbags that deploy around your calves.
When it comes to your back, the OS-4000T has you covered. The backrest features a quad-style roller mechanism that extends from your neck and shoulders down to your lower back.
The OS-4000T combines rollers and airbags to deliver an outstanding full-body massage. Airbags are strategically placed around your head, shoulders, lower back, waist, and thighs. Plus, when you insert your arms into the arm pockets, the OS-4000T activates a total of eight airbags that compress your arms and hands. The chair has 38 airbags in total for complete body coverage, including the previously mentioned leg and foot airbags.
Our massage chair specialists have rated the OS-4000T’s intensity between 2-6 on a scale of 1-10, where 1 represents the mildest possible massage and 10 signifies the firmest pressure. This translates into a mild to mid-strong overall intensity.
Another useful feature is the OS-4000T’s lower back heat. Research has shown that lumbar heating is effective in promoting oxygen flow and loosening tight muscles. It also forces your body to stay firmly against the backrest in order to maximize your massage session.
The OS-4000T is accompanied by a full-sized remote that sits on a pedestal stand. The remote, despite its bulkiness, can be detached from the stand for handheld use. It incorporates an LCD screen which displays the chair’s active functions. While it may not have the modern touch screen display found in many premium models, the button-style remote efficiently does the job.
A mini handheld wireless controller is also included to adjust basic functions like the recline position and airbag pressure without having to reach for the main display.
The OS-4000T includes eight preset auto programs that employ a diverse range of massage techniques and chair movements. These programs consist of Muscle Relief, Thai, Stretching, Anti-Stress, Demo, Neck/Shoulder, Back/Lumbar, and Full Air. The latter program focuses on providing a full-body airbag compression massage without utilizing the rollers.
With the manual settings, you can create a custom massage program from scratch. Within these settings, you can activate individual airbags, choose from six roller techniques (including Kneading, Tapping, Clapping, Rolling, Swedish, and Shiatsu), and adjust the roller focus to specific areas along your back. Additionally, the manual control section enables you to activate the seat vibration and fine-tune the roller speed and width. By harnessing the power of these features, you can effectively target and alleviate specific areas, providing a tailored relief experience.
