DETAILED FUNCTIONS & FEATURES
Extended SL-Track Design
The Osaki OS-Aster is equipped with Osaki’s signature L-Track roller massage track. Measuring 49 inches in length, the OS-Aster’s track is designed to follow two phases: the conventional S-Track and extended L-Track.
The S-Track portion follows the natural S-shaped curvature of the spine — ranging from the top of the neck, shoulders, and down the entirety of the spine. The roller heads proceed well past the S-Track during the L-Track phase, tucking underneath the bottom of the seat to reach the buttocks and upper hamstring muscles. The OS-Aster offers up to 40% more roller coverage compared to S-Track models.
Body Scanning
Prior to the OS-Aster beginning a massage program, the chair will initiate a scan that detects your body’s shoulders, neck, and back. The scan determines the roller’s starting position on the top of the neck and tailors the massage to your unique frame.
If you find that the rollers are too high or low after the scan completes, you have a 10 second window afterward to adjust the starting position up to 10 levels.
Zero Gravity Recline
Zero Gravity is a neutral posture position inspired by NASA that promotes an ideal level of comfort to enhance your massage experience. During Zero Gravity, the backrest reclines backwards as the footrest elevates above the heart, simulating the “weightless” sensation that astronauts experience in space.
Due to your entire weight being evenly distributed across the backrest and in closer contact with the roller heads, Zero Gravity will provide the firmest massage possible. Zero Gravity offers a host of additional benefits, including reduced chronic back and neck pain, improved lung circulation, increased blood circulation and more.
Foot Rollers
The OS-Aster has two rows of reflexology massagers on the bottom of the footrest. The mechanical rollers spin underneath the foot soles, applying a soothing kneading-style application that stimulate the acupuncture points. As the rollers spin, airbags inflate along the sides of the feet, compressing in a downwards motion to push the feet down into the foot rollers.
The OS-Aster offers three foot roller intensity levels, ranging from mild to strong. The highest speed corresponds with a firmer foot roller massage whereas the lowest speed equates to a more mild foot roller application.
Air Compression Massage
The OS-Aster utilizes air compression technology to deliver a full body massage. The 18 airbags distributed throughout the chair complement the 49″ SL-Track to compress and squeeze the key areas of the body. The airbags are located in the outer shoulders, the upper and lower portion of the arm pockets, calves, and feet.
Through Osaki’s re-engineered Next Generation Airbag Technology, fewer airbags are necessary due to each of the individual airbag pieces being larger in surface area compared to older massage chairs. A fewer airbag count, while still targeting the same areas as many other comparable models, results in less working parts and a more durable chair in the long-run.
The OS-Aster offers three levels of intensity for the airbags, from weak to strong. The airbag intensity can be adjusted independently for the upper and lower body.
6 Auto Programs
The OS-Aster offers six expertly designed automated programs, each with a distinctive massage style and technique. Simply tap one of the programs on the center of the remote and your massage will begin within seconds. The six programs include Comfort, Relax, Full Body, Neck & Shoulders, Back & Waist, and Stretch.
- Comfort: Comfort is a rejuvenating full body program intended to loosen the muscles. This mild intensity pre-set mode is a great program to wake up or end the night to
- Relax: Relax is a deep tissue full body program designed to target the key acupressure points and to ease sore muscles
- Full Body: Full Body is a relaxing and soothing program that targets the neck down to to the bottom of the feet. This program recuperates the muscles after physical activity and improves muscle recovery
- Neck & Shoulders: Neck & Shoulders is a targeted program that relieves neck and shoulder pain symptoms
- Back & Waist: Back & Waist is a targeted program that focuses almost entirely on the lumbar vertebrae to promote better back and waist health
- Stretch: The Stretch program takes full advantage of the airbags to firmly twist the body as the rollers slide up and down the 49″ track. As this occurs, the backrest and footrest lift in unison to stretch the body’s core and feet
Manual Massage Techniques/Fine Tuning
The OS-Aster comes equipped with a full suite of manual massage techniques and fine tuning measures to allow you to create your own customized massage program. Selecting the massage style you prefer along with where and how you want the chair to massage your body couldn’t be easier.
- 5 Roller Massage Styles: Choose from five different massage techniques, including Shiatsu, Kneading, Knocking, Tapping & Kneading Combination, and Tapping
- 3 Roller Speeds: Choose the speed of roller massage: slow, normal, or fast
- 3 Roller Widths: Choose how close or far apart you want the two columns of the quad roller system to be relative to each other. You have the option to have the rollers be narrow, normal, or wide. While normal mode is ideal for most users, you can choose to have the rollers be narrower if you have a petite frame or if you want to focus on the centermost portion of the SL-Track. Alternatively, you can choose the wide option if you prefer to have the rollers massage the outermost portion of the body, or if you have a broad body type
- 5 Geotargeting Options: Choose where the rollers massage along the SL-Track. The OS-Aster provides three different regional settings: the entirety of the back, back and shoulders, or back and waist. The custom settings include fixed and partial. Fixed allows you to choose a point along the 49″ SL-Track and the rollers will fix in on that that specific area. Partial not only massages that fixed point but also a few inches above and below that point. For example, if you have a sore area of the lower back that needs to be worked on, fixed will massage just that area of the lower back. Partial, however, will concentrate on the general area of that point
- Airbags Intensity: Choose the firmness of the air compression massage up to three levels. If you prefer to have a different intensity in the upper and lower portion of the chair, you can independently alter the intensity in those two regions
- Foot Roller Speed: Choose from three foot rollers speed levels. The speed closely correlates to the intensity of the foot roller massage
Extendable Footrest
The spring loaded ottoman of the OS-Aster can be extended outward up to 7 inches by simply exerting pressure with your legs in a downward motion. The footrest will accommodate a user as tall as 6’2 at its maximum extension.
Space Saving Technology
The OS-Aster comes equipped with a space saving recline design. The OS-Aster slides slightly forward on its base as it reclines into Zero Gravity, allowing you to place the chair just 10 inches away from the wall behind it. The OS-Aster has a total length of just 63 inches at its maximum recline position, making it one of the most compact chairs on the market.
Easy to Use Remote
The OS-Aster’s remote control features an LCD display screen on the top which displays all the functions the chair currently has activated. Easily navigate through the automated programs, create a personalized manual program, make fine tuning measures, and alter the pitch of the chair or ease into Zero Gravity seamlessly.
When the OS-Aster is not in use or during a massage session, conveniently tuck the remote away in its dedicated pocket on either side of the armrest.
Easy to Assemble
The OS-Aster’s installation process is foolproof. Simply attach the footrest to the main body of the chair, plug the chair into a wall outlet or power strip, and you’re ready to begin your massage!
